A vision for honest technology

Technology that does its job. Then leaves you alone.

Somewhere along the way, the things we own stopped working for us. TVs became ad platforms. Cars started charging rent for features already built in. Washing machines started asking for our Wi-Fi password. Company 2000 exists to build the opposite: products that do the one thing they were made to do. No subscriptions. No surveillance. No app required.

Every product we make ships with a label like this. Plain words, no fine print.

The problem

"Smart" stopped meaning better for you. It started meaning more for them.

01

Complexity

A microwave with a firmware update.

Simple machines now ship with apps, accounts, pairing flows and update cycles. That means more to learn, more to break, and a product that quietly stops working when the company behind it loses interest.

02

Subscriptions

Paying monthly for hardware you already own.

Heated seats, remote start, printer ink, "premium" wash cycles. The feature is physically in the product, and you paid for it. It's still locked behind a recurring fee.

03

Privacy

Your TV is watching you back.

Content recognition, usage telemetry, location data. Many devices are now sold cheaply because the real revenue comes from what they collect about you, long after the sale.

Same appliance. Count the steps.

What it takes to use the thing you bought.

The Company 2000 standard

Six rules. Every product. No exceptions.

"Dumb" doesn't mean outdated. It means a product with a single loyalty: to the person who owns it. Modern materials, modern efficiency, modern build quality, minus everything that serves someone else.

  1. It does its job.

The core function works perfectly out of the box. No account, no app, no network connection.

  2. You pay once.

If the hardware can do it, you own it. No feature subscriptions, no paywalled settings, ever.

  3. It doesn't phone home.

No telemetry, no tracking, no data sales. Where a connection is genuinely useful, it's opt-in and local-first.

  4. Buttons, not menus.

Physical controls for the things you do every day. Screens only where they earn their place.

  5. Built to be repaired.

Standard screws, available parts, published manuals. Designed for decades, not upgrade cycles.

  6. It works forever.

If we disappeared tomorrow, your product would keep working exactly as it did today. No servers to shut off.
